Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Preorerative Recommendations:

1) Present to the surgical unit (hospital, clinic), at the scheduled date and time.

2) Communicate any abnormality that may affect your general health status up to one day before hospital admission.

3) Do not use makeup on the day of admission

4) Bring sunglasses.

5) If you are admitted to the hospital on the same day of the surgery, please observe a fasting period of 8 hours. Please come to hospital accompanied by another person.

6) Avoid smoking at least during the 15 days preceding surgery.

7) Avoid any medication containing acetylsalicylic acid (i.e. aspirin) or any medication with anticoagulant effect, for at least 15 days before surgery



Postoperative Recommendations:

1) Please apply borated water or cold saline compresses (cotton pads soaked in cold borated water), 6 times a day, during 10 minutes, in the first 7 days.

2) Regular diet.

3) Use sunglasses during exposure to natural light.

4) Avoid exposure to sunlight, wind and cold weather, for 90 days.

5) Follow medical prescription.

6) Return to the clinic for dressing and revision on the scheduled dates.

7) Please always consult these instructions.

8) Be careful not to bump or rub your eyes. You will be able to resume your normal activities after 7 days.
