Mentoplasty (chin surgery)

Preoperative Recommendations:

1) Please notify the surgeon, until the day before the surgery, in case of viral infection, dental infection, throat disorders, etc.

2) Please check in at the hospital or clinic on the scheduled date and time.

3) Avoid smoking at least during the 15 days preceding surgery.

4) Keep an 8 hours fasting interval before the scheduled time of the surgery.

5) Avoid any medication containing acetylsalicylic acid (i.e. aspirin) or any medication with anticoagulant effect, for at least 15 days before surgery.



Postoperative Recommendations:

1) Avoid exposure to cold weather, sunlight and local trauma in the first 30 days after surgery.

2) Please return to the clinic on the scheduled dates.

3) Use a soft toothbrush.

4) Follow medical prescription.

5) Do not worry about the natural swelling of your chin, which may last for 4-6 weeks.

6) Regular diet. Avoid solid food that require strong chewing effort during the first days.
