Rhytidectomy (Facelift or wrinkle surgery)

Preoperative Recommendations:

1) Please come to the clinic on the days before surgery to prepare your hair (schedule an appointment with the nurse).

2) Wash your hair on the day before surgery with antiseptic shampoo.

3) Follow the instructions for hospitalization.

4) Please notify the surgeon of any abnormality affecting your health status.

5) Do not use makeup on the day of hospital admission.

6) Avoid smoking for the last 30 days before surgery, since complications are directly related to smoke.

7) Keep an 8 hours fasting interval before the scheduled time of the surgery.

8) Avoid any medication containing acetylsalicylic acid (i.e. aspirin) or any medication with anticoagulant effect, for at least 15 days before surgery.



Postoperative Recommendations:

1) Avoid wetting the dressings on the scalp for 24 hours.

2) Apply cold compresses (cotton soaked in cold saline) on the eyes, several times a day, during the first two days.

3) Regular diet.

4) Use sunglasses and a scarf on your head.

5) Avoid exposure to sunlight, wind and cold weather, for 90 days.

6) Follow medical prescription.

7) Please return to the clinic for dressings, on the scheduled date.

8) Please refer to our written message (instructions brochure) concerning postoperative evolution.
